Hillary Clinton says Trump is threatening US democracy
US Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton has once again said that her Republican rival Donald Trump is “threatening” America’s democracy. Speaking at a rally in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Saturday night, Clinton said that Trump’s suggestion that he would not concede if he lost the election is “a direct threat to our democracy.”
She said the US has always had a “peaceful transfer of power” and “that is the difference between the rule of law and the rule of strong men.” Clinton also said she was sick and tired of her rival’s campaign “denigrating America.” “Come on, give me a break,” she said. “This country has created more economic opportunity for anyone in the history of the world. We just have to get it spun up again.”
On Thursday, Trump said that he would have the right to challenge the outcome of the upcoming election if he felt it is “questionable,” adding that he might “contest or file a legal challenge.” In response, Clinton said Friday that “by doing that, he is threatening our democracy,” noting, “We know in our country the difference between leadership and dictatorship.”

Trump had been lagging behind the former secretary of state among likely voters for weeks. However, Trump for the first time since the second debate topped Clinton in a poll this week. The candidate’s favorability has plunged over a 2005 video tape that showed him using obscene language against women.
In addition, a total of eleven women have come forward accusing the business mogul of sexually abusing them. Trump, however, has rejected all the accusations, and even said Saturday he would sue every one of his accusers after the election.

Yaounde-Douala Highway Crisis: CPDM regime repairs bridge using a container
Technicians in Cameroon have used a container to repair the bridge that collapsed on the Douala-Yaounde highway. Our chief correspondent in Yaounde who filed in this report observed that nothing can best represent the end of a regime than the fact that a metal box designed to transport goods is now being used by road engineers in the construction of a bridge.
Some officials of the Ministry of Public Works were heard murmuring privately that for a country that has Mafany Musonge, Eta Jerome and Omer Sendze to be building bridges with containers is shameful. A spokesman for the ruling CPDM crime syndicate indicated that it was a temporary repair.

New poll shows Trump has overtaken Clinton following last debate
US Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump has overtaken his Democratic rival Hillary Clinton following their last presidential debate, a new poll shows. According to the Rasmussen survey released on Friday, two days after the fiery debate in Las Vegas on Wednesday night, Trump led Clinton 43 percent to 41 percent.
Following the two candidates were Libertarian nominee Gary Johnson with 5 percent and Green Party candidate Jill Stein with 3 percent. The survey’s findings were a significant development for the Trump campaign, which had been struggling to keep up with the former secretary of state’s growing support among voters prior to the last face-off.
This was the first time, since the second debate, that Trump was topping Clinton in a poll. The candidate’s favorability rate had taken a hit over a 2005 video tape that showed him using obscene language against women.
The poll also found that 88 percent of the voters had determined their choice in the November election. Trump once again led Clinton in this category by a 1-percent margin, 48 percent to 47 percent.

Trump was the most popular choice among the unsure voters, grabbing 38 percent support against Clinton’s 25 percent, the poll showed.
Interestingly, nearly 78 percent of Republicans and 15 percent of Democrats said they supported Trump. Clinton was supported by 77 percent of Democrats and 11 percent of Republicans.
‘Rigged’ election
Another major poll that was released on Friday was a Reuters/Ipsos survey regarding Trump’s claim that the vote is “rigged” against him and in Clinton’s favor.
With the election less than three weeks away, the real estate mogul insists that Clinton’s campaign team and the media are trying to rig the vote against him.
The Reuters/Ipsos poll showed that nearly 70 percent of Republicans were certain that Clinton could only win the election through fraud. This is while only 50 percent of GOP voters said they would accept her presidency.
On the Democratic side, however, people looked more favorably on Trump’s possible election, with 70 percent of them saying they would accept it. Less than 50 percent of Democrats would blame vote rigging for a Trump presidency.

Aso Rock: Muhammadu Buhari receives Chibok girls
Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari received on Wednesday at the presidential palace in Abuja Abuja the 21 Chibok girls recently released by the group Boko Haram. The Nigerian leader expressed his joy and promised that his government was determined to ensure that the rest of the girls were released.
Said Buhari: “My dear children. It’s a happy moment for me and for all Nigerians. We welcome your return to freedom. This is a time when your parents, the nation and the international community were looking forward to ever since your kidnapping on the 14th of April 2014 “.
President Buhari observed that all Nigerians will continue to remember the sad night of April 14, 2014 where 276 young Nigerian students were abducted from a High School in Chibok, Borno state by Boko Haram. Before this historic release, 57 of the 276 abducted girls had escaped from the hands of their captors and another, Amina Ali, was found in May 2016.
Buhari confirmed that a series of negotiations between the government and Boko Haram Boko with the help of some international partners led to their release. The President who is currently at daggers-drawn positions with his wife Aisha, promised that the girls will receive medical care, nutritional and psychological support and that the federal government will ensure they were reintegrated into society as soon as possible.

Douala-Yaounde motorway crisis affecting the entire Sub Saharan region
Following the complete interruption of traffic on the all-important Douala-Yaounde highway, economic activities have considerably been affected. Cameroon is strategically located within the Central African sub-region and is a reception point for land locked countries including Chad, CAR, Congo and Gabon where most of the imported goods come through and are channelled to these countries.
The closure of traffic is not only a major blow to Cameroon’s economy but has also affected the entire Sub Saharan region that almost entirely depends on Cameroon. The presence of hundreds of heavy duty vehicles parked on both sides of the motorway after the bridge collapsed, paints a true picture of the huge traffic on the Yaounde-Douala highway.
The Ministry of Public Works and other CPDM corrupt private agencies in charge of road maintenance are all struggling to find a quick solution to the situation created by poor leadership and mediocrity in the Biya Francophone Beti-Ewondo regime.

Hundreds of passengers stranded on the Douala-Yaounde Highway
A nozzle buried along the main road in Manyai some 68 km from Yaounde has collapsed following heavy rains on the night of 20/21 October 2016. This has brought traffic along the Douala/Yaounde highway to a complete halt.
Hundreds of heavy-duty vehicles, inter-urban transport buses and personal cars are presently stranded. Informed of the situation, the Secretary of State for Public Works and other competent authorities have rushed to the spot to seek for an urgent solution to the problem that can have a very negative consequence on the economy of the country.
The officials are now examining the possibility of re-routing vehicles. Some road experts say a more plausible option is to leave from Yaounde -Otele -Minka- Makak- Eseka then to Boumyebel. This requires an additional two hours.
