How the Presbyterian Church in Cameroon has distanced itself from PEATTU
The Presbyterian Church in Cameroon has reportedly issued a statement contradicting the position held by the Presbyterian Education Authority Teachers Trade Union, PEATTU. Cameroon Concord News is yet to confirm the authenticity of the document that was emailed to our Brussels bureau today Sunday the 5th of February 2017. Below is the text as sent to us:
The Moderator is the proprietor of all Presbyterian schools in Cameroon. He has not been consulted in the present dispensation for the signing of any document by whosoever on behalf of the PRESBYTERIAN EDUCATION AUTHORITY TEACHERS TRADE UNION (PEATTU).
He is presently in AKWAYA for the Thanksgiving of his late father together with the entire workers and staff of the synod office, including a cream of pastors. Until you get his personal opinion on this issue, we consider the said Mr Stephen acting for reasons best known to him.
The decision taken before remains. We call for those detained to be released and government should stop the brutal arrest and detaining of individuals. We also call for fresh dialogue as a possible way to reinstate our dignity as a people.
The PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH IN CAMEROON IS NOT A SELLOUT CHURCH AND WILL NEVER BE. Blood has been split and this must not and cannot be taken lightly. Until the PCC Moderator speaks, consider PEATTU position on that approval back to school as null and void.

US: Democratic congressman says Donald Trump should be mentally examined
A US Democratic lawmaker has suggested that President Donald Trump needs a mental check-up after blasting him for defending his executive order banning entry of citizens from some Muslim countries.
“Last 24 hrs on Twitter, Donald Trump went on rant about ‘death & destruction,’ ‘FAKE NEWS,’ & ‘evil.’ Should he get mental health exam?” California Congressman Ted Lieu tweeted Saturday.
Lieu further posted a tweet praising a decision by a US federal judge to stop the travel ban against visa holders from seven Muslim-majority nations – Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Iraq, Iran, Yemen and Syria – under the pretext of fighting terrorism.
The legislator also slammed Trump’s harsh criticism of influential US daily The New York Times, accusing the newspaper of “inaccurate coverage” on the day its print edition published an article about the president’s distance from his business empire as the country’s chief executive.
The news story alleged that the real estate mogul has not sufficiently separated himself from his massive business holdings and interests — a move that some lawyers and legal experts on government ethics say is rife with conflict of interest issues.
Trump further claimed that the New York-based daily had apologized for its coverage of his presidential campaign. However, it remains unclear what apology he was referring to, as the newspaper has not publicly apologized for its news coverage of his campaign.

Cameroon Intelligence Report launches probe on pedophile network involving the Presbyterian Education Authority Teachers Trade Union
The Francophone dominated government has announced that four out of the six teachers trade unions have suspended the strike action initiated by the Cameroon Anglophone Civil Society Consortium. A position however denied by the interim leaders of the Consortium.
We got intelligence that the signatories of the press release that was read over state radio and television on Saturday the 4th of February 2017, received approximately a hundred and fifty million FCFA from the Biya Francophone Beti Ewondo regime via the governor of the North West region, Adolphe LELE L’AFRIQUE.
One of the teachers, Afu Stephen leader of the Presbyterian Education Authority Teachers Trade Union; PEATTU- a union noted for covering up sex abuse crimes committed on minors by members of the group told Equinoxe Radio that it was necessary for schools to resume because children have been home doing nothing with some becoming thieves and smoking banned products. He added that some of the schools have suffered great loss especially confessional schools that have to pay their teachers through school fees.
Afu Stephen even boasted that the decision he and the others reached could force Tassang Wilfred who is in hiding to come out and join them look for a way forward. Cameroon Intelligence Report has launched an investigation on the many alleged pedophiles militating in the Presbyterian Education Authority Teachers Trade Union including Tame Valentine and Ayeah Emmanuela.
The Cameroon Anglophone Civil Society Consortium has posted that schools will remain closed in all the constituencies in West Cameroon and a massive ghost town operation will be stage beginning tomorrow Monday the 6th of February 2017.

Southern Cameroons Problem: Consortium says it is the people’s revolution
The interim leaders of the Cameroon Anglophone Civil Society Consortium have dismissed reports over state radio and television calling off the strike. The leaders say, the government succeeded in getting signatures of some insignificant members of one of the teachers’ trade unions and claimed that the Consortium had agreed to stop the strikes and the civil disobedience campaign. The leaders have announced a ghost town operation for Monday and maintained that all schools should remain closed.
Inside sources deep within the Consortium hinted our Buea undercover reporter that it is the people’s revolution and only the detained leaders have legitimate authority to call off the strikes. The Cameroon Anglophone Civil Society Consortium is pushing for a highly publicized sit-in civil disobedience on the 11th of February. Approximately eight teachers met with CPDM agents from Yaoundé and traded their signatures for blood money.
The Consortium maintains that the Francophone government has been ineffective and biased because it is tied to Anglophone political elites who are not the genuine representatives of Southern Cameroonians. The leaders of the Cameroon Anglophone Civil Society Consortium, who began the sit-in action in 2016, said that since no progress has been made schools will not resume until a proper agreement is reach between the Francophone political elites and the people of Southern Cameroons.
The interim leaders noted that they were pleased with the South West reaction against the Buea Musonge meeting that attempted to invoke the North West/South West Divide tactics. Southern Cameroonians have held rallies in major cities in the West to generate support for the struggle and the West Cameroon cause, attracting thousands to the resistance.
Biya is reportedly feeling the pressure and is now taking the issue a lot more seriously. During a ceremony held in honour of the 4 senior army officials who died when their helicopter crashed in the Far North region, the 83 year-old leader appealed for unity.

Moderator Samuel Fonki “I never initiated a strike action and I would not be the one to call it off”
The Moderator of the Presbyterian Church in Cameroon, PCC, Rt. Rev. Samuel Fonki Forba has said that the Government should release all Anglophone leaders of the Cameroon Anglophone Civil Society Consortium and proceed with dialogue for the possible resumption of schools in the two English speaking regions of the country.
Rt. Rev Samuel Fonki was speaking at a Press Conference held in Bamenda, North West region after the Executive Committee and Board of Trustees Meeting of the PCC. The Moderator and 13 other Executives signed a two-page press release proposing that some sought of amnesty be given to all those who were arrested and detained in the wake of the crisis that continues to rock Southern Cameroons.
“We want those arrested because of their political ideologies and those detained because of crimes committed within the period to be tried in the regions where they were arrested so that their rights to be cared for by family members and friends would be guaranteed.”
The PCC Moderator and his Executives also called on the State to end all arbitrary arrest and detention of persons from the two English Speaking regions. They also suggested that the Government should comply with the decisions arrived at with Teachers during the Bamenda meeting of January to enable the resumption of classes.
On the issue of suspension of the strike and contrary to what was reportedly on Cameroon Tribune, the Moderator said, “I never initiated a strike action in the first place and I would not be the one to call it off. I am simply appealing on stakeholders to do so. If Government schools are unable to resume classes, I don’t see how PCC schools can do so in isolation.”

2Face and his gang are playing double standards
Police in the Federal Republic of Nigeria have sounded a note of caution to popular artist Innocent Idibia known as 2Face that he will be arrested if he takes part in the planned march for Monday, February 06 in Lagos. 2Face who is the chief organizer of the anti President Buhari event intends to protest against the incapacity of the government to find a solution to the economic crisis caused by high inflation.
Cameroon Intelligence Report understands that the Lagos State Police Commissioner Fatai Owoseni has informed 2Face that the Monday February 6th march has not gotten any security clearance. Commissioner Fatai reportedly explained that the police had not been informed of the march and to this end would not allow the demonstration. The Lagos police department also pointed out that rogues intends to take advantage of the 2Face led demonstration to steal, harass and attack people.
The 2Face march is also projected in many major cities of Nigeria including Abuja, the political capital. The demonstration in Lagos is scheduled to take place at the national stadium in Surulere. Without being intimidated by the threat of his arrest, 2Face has maintained the march and made public a dress code- green, which is one of the colors of the national flag.
Opposition figures in the Federal Republic of Nigeria are supporting the artist. The governor of Ekiti state, Ayodele Fayose recently observed that Nigerians have the right to protest whenever they feel wronged. Referring to article 40 of the 1999 Nigerian Constitution, Fasoye noted that “everyone has the right to freely gather and associate with another person and that a rally does not require police authorization or interference.’ In relation to the police’s idea that the march could cause theft and violence, the Ekiti governor proposed that the police should ensure the safety of the demonstrators.
We of this publication agree with Femi Adesina, the communication advisor to President Muhammadu Buhari who recently opined that even if an angel runs Nigeria, people will always complain. We believe and fervently too that 2Face and his gang are playing double standards in dealing with the economic situation in the Federal Republic of Nigeria. We are also questioning 2Face’s authenticity in fighting against poverty, hunger and economic hardship in Nigeria.
It is surprising that many of the 2Face followers seem to have not taken note of the fact that 2Face thinks and lives foreign. Cameroon Intelligence Report sees 2Face as one of those Nigerians who are consistently inconsistent. For a man who celebrated his wedding in a far away country depriving Nigeria of huge amounts of earnings in flights, hotels, catering etc to turn around and claim to feel for Nigerians to us is shameful, disgusting and disgraceful.
It is also very disturbing that more renowned artists like Flavour and PSquare have decided to keep quite over the 2Face movement. Our desk editor in Yaoundé was heard murmuring privately that a man who received 2 Toyota Prados SUV (Sports Utility Vehicle) and a 10 million Naira cash gift from Governor Godwill Akpabio of Akwabom state should not be the one to speak for the poor and the helpless in Nigeria. The Nigerian opposition needs a decent man to challenge government’s failed economic policies not 2Face.

US: Majority of Americans disapprove of Donald Trump
US President Donald Trump has the highest disapproval ratings of any new president in recent history, according to a new survey. A majority, 53 percent, of Americans disapprove of the way Trump is handling his job as president, while 44 percent approve, according to a new CNN/ORC poll released on Friday.
It marks the highest disapproval rating for a new elected president since polls began tracking those results, making Trump the only president to hold a net-negative rating this early in his presidency. However, 78 percent of respondents say Trump is handling the presidency as they would have expected.

Trump’s first two weeks in office have been marked by nationwide protests over his executive order banning citizens from seven majority-Muslim countries from entering the US.
Fifty-three percent of those surveyed by CNN say they oppose Trump’s immigration order, while 47 percent say they favor the action.
A vast majority of respondents, 82 percent, who oppose the executive order believe it constitutes a Muslim ban. A quarter of supporters also see the action as an attempt to ban Muslims from entering the country.

Opinions on the subject are sharply divided across party lines, with 88 percent of Democrats opposing Trump’s action and 88 percent of Republicans supporting the order.
Independents are also more likely to be against the immigration order, with 54 percent opposed. In addition, Americans are largely opposed to Trump’s executive order to build a wall along the border with Mexico. Opposition to the plan stands at 60 percent, while only 38 percent support the wall, the CNN poll shows.

Senegalese football legend El-Hadji Diouf has lashed out at Cameroonian internationals Matip and Nyom for refusing to take part in the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations. I often tell boys to never reject their country, because Africa is the future of this world, “he continued.
