Give praise to where it belongs. South Sudan gained independence due to the Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA) aka Naivasha Agreement. The CPA was an accord signed on January 9, 2005, by the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement (SPLM) and the Government of Sudan under the auspices of IGAD involving 8 eastern African countries. The CPA set the roadmap to end the Sudanese Civil War, develop democratic governance, share oil revenues and set a timetable for a Southern Sudanese independence referendum. The Obama administration met the CPA in place and supported it.

This news organ must do its homework before publishing its articles. When you say “No government in the world will yield to any pressure to lose part of its territory” What do you mean as part of its territory here? What makes the Southern Cameroons that was granted Independence in 1961 part of The Republic of Cameroon that was granted Independence in 1960. Can you produce any document which indicates that Southern Cameroon’s independence was ever revoked by the UN or that it surrendered it to the Republic of Cameroon when they union came into being? I just had to stop at this point because if you do not know or refuse to know that The Republic of Cameroun has no right to be in our territory, any conclusion you try to make on the issue will be baseless and meaningless. That is why at this point of the struggle all the Southern Cameroons government is trying to do is to create a defense force and then advice The Republic of Cameroun to withdraw from our territory which it will do whether it likes it or not.. So your statements about what Mr Biya would like, do or not do so far as this crises is concerned is without substance. The path to the solution does not need his input anymore.
