Argentinean ace Lionel Messi has claimed his 4th Golden Boot award for being the top scorer in a European league last season.
The Barcelona talisman, who scored 37 La Liga goals in the 2016-2017 season, drew level with Cristiano Ronaldo’s tally of 4 European Golden Boots by receiving the prize on Friday.
Messi beat Dutch striker Bas Dost, who netted 34 times for Sporting Lisbon in the Portuguese top flight. The Argentine had won the award 3 times before in 2010, 2012 and 2013. Messi, Ronaldo and Suarez have shared the prize in the past 9 years.
