Six people are reportedly dead and 19 others seriously injured, in a ghastly accident that occurred as early as 5:00 a:m, this morning, between a 70 sitter inter-urban bus belonging to General Express, and a truck along the Yaounde-Bandjoun road.
Reacting to the news, Awa Fonka Augustine, Governor of the West Region told CRTV that rescue operations are underway, together with the help of fire fighters and villagers of Bandjoun.
The accident bus and truck blocked the road, creating hours of traffic before eventually being removed after the intervention of villagers, fire fighters, uniform officials and an emergency rescue team from Bafousssam. Presently the circulation is back to normal again.
Meanwhile some of the victims are presently undergoing treatment at the Mbouo Bandjoun Protestant Hospital, and the Bafoussam Regional Hospital. The corpses have undergone identification process and kept in the mortuary.
