Doctors in Cameroon are donating blood at the Yaounde Central Hospital to help increase the amount of blood available in the blood banks. The four-day campaign which was launched today the 5th of October 2016 is an initiative of the Association of Medical Doctors in Cameroon, MEDICAMER.
The Director General of the Yaounde Central Hospital, Prof Pierre Joseph Fouda observed that the doctors are sending out a message. The blood donation exercise comes at a time when statistics indicate that Cameroon needs more than 140,000 packets of blood every year. The campaign is expected to spread to other towns and cities in the days ahead.
