Russian military targets logistics hub, data center in Ukraine
Russia’s military has hit a key logistics hub and a data center in Ukraine, the Russian Defense Ministry says.
Newly released footage by the Defense Ministry on Sunday shows direct hits on the Nova Poshta logistics center in Chernomorsk and a data center in Odessa.
Russia has increasingly targeted Ukrainian data centers in recent strikes, with Ukrainian internet and mobile providers also reporting damage to data centers and disruptions to connectivity.
Russia hit two dry-cargo vessels carrying military supplies at the port of Odesa, as well as a drone command post, an air-surveillance radar, military transport infrastructure, weapons depots, drone storage facilities and positions housing Ukrainian troops and foreign fighters.
Russian forces also struck a bridge used to transport troops and military equipment.
The ministry said Russian air defenses intercepted four guided bombs, three US-made HIMARS rockets and 1,222 fixed-wing drones over the previous 24 hours.
It further stated that Russian forces have a grip on Ukrainian troops in the northeastern Kharkiv region and made advances elsewhere, including in northern and central Dobropillia.
The latest strikes come as Kiev and Moscow have intensified their long-range attacks in recent weeks, following Ukraine’s strikes that resulted in civilian warehouses and logistics hubs, residential buildings and resort areas being damaged.
Responding to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s “40-day pressure campaign”, Russia has also targeted Ukrainian military logistics and industrial facilities.
Zelensky said in an interview with Reuters on Saturday that Ukrainian forces are going to double down on the attacks on Russia’s oil refineries and energy facilities.
“Following Zelensky’s statement today, strikes by the Russian Armed Forces on military and military-industrial facilities, as well as related infrastructure in Kiev and other regions of Ukraine, will be intensified,” it said.
The ministry also stated that responsibility for any consequences or further escalation resulting from the attacks would lie solely with the “head of the Kiev regime.”
