French Cameroun dictator, President Paul Biya is planning a visit to the Bamenda County in Southern Cameroons this December, Cameroon Intelligence Report has learned from a well-placed source in Yaoundé. The Anglophone crisis continues to be a major concern for the French Cameroun political elites.  Several actions taken to respond favorably to the initial corporatist demands did not contribute to resolving the crisis definitively to the point where Paul Biya, himself is preparing to make a trip to Bamenda.

The security services of the Presidency of La Republique du Cameroun have been operating in Bamenda for weeks now. They include the presidential guard, the division of presidential security (DSP) whose detachments carry out advanced missions, the rapid intervention battalion (BIR) and of course the gendarmerie.

Our source hinted that Paul Biya intends to bring a message of appeasement to the people of Southern Cameroons, whose quest for complete and total independence has tend to increase insecurity in the territory. The 84 year old chief of the French Cameroun executive is expected to hold some form of a broader dialogue with trade union leaders in Bamenda.

A Biya Francophone regime official noted the failure of various Prime Minister Philemon Yang missions in his native North West and said that “the president must go down to Southern Cameroons to inquire about the actual situation on the ground. “.
