The Minister of Higher Education, Professor Jacques Fame Ndongo has promised to look into the fake certificate crisis that has rocked the University of Buea.
He made the pronouncement in Buea on Monday July the 10th, 2017 in front of disgruntled students who brandished placards denouncing the constant circulation of fake certificates in the institution.
The students gathered in front of Amphi theatre Dorothy Njeuma chanting, “No Advance Level, No UB.” Their reaction came following revelations that the Mayor of Buea, Patrick Ekema Esunge gained admission in the university fraudulently.
The higher education boss was in Buea to install newly appointed officials of the university. He urged the new team Professor Horace Ngomo Manga and Professor Ako Edward Oben as Vice Chancellor and Pro Chancellor respectively, to maintain the legacy of the outgoing VC whom he described as an iron lady.
